Hello, I'm Rebecca. I'm a qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP and trained in outdoor therapy. I am passionate about offering a safe and supportive space where you feel truly heard and valued. Together we can navigate life's seasons at your own pace. I offer both indoor or outdoor sessions or a blend of both.
I am a mother with a blended family and an avid outdoor enthusiast - from local walks to mountain hikes and the occasional wild swim - I'm deeply passionate about the therapeutic power of nature. I also love incorporating biophilic design to bring the outdoors inside. My goal is to blend this passion with my counselling practice.

Much like the changing seasons, our lives are characterised by periods of growth and transformation. We may experience a range of emotions, included sadness, fear, anxiety, stress, worry, uncertainty, and confusion. Counselling provides a safe space for self-discovery, where you can explore these feelings with empathy and without judgment, as you navigate the evolving seasons of your life. Sessions are a therapeutic hour which is 50 minutes.
Stress - Anxiety - Emotional Difficulties - Low Confidence - Bereavement - Sexuality - Decision Making - Life Coaching - Feeling Depressed - Suicidal Thoughts - Self Harm - Personal Development - Work Issues - Redundancy - Retirement - Parenting Struggles - Divorce / Relationship Problems - Past Abuse
At Seasons Of Change Counselling, I offer unique outdoor counselling sessions that allow clients to walk and talk in nature. This setting can help alleviate the pressure often felt in traditional counselling rooms. It provides a safe space for exploring thoughts and feelings, particularly beneficial for neurodiverse individuals or those who thrive outdoors. Nature can be a grounding element, aiding in anxiety relief and promoting open communication. Outdoor counselling can be tailored to your needs and does not have to be walking all the time. Clients may want to sit on a bench or on a log and have moments of stillness. While outdoor therapy is suitable for children I do not currently offer this for clients under 18.
Outdoor counselling can help to reduce isolation, and reduce anxiety. Outdoor counselling can improve physical health while being outdoors increases our vitamin D intake. Our brains can rest from the cacophony of urban life and auditory overload. We don’t switch off, but rather change gear, into calmer, gentler state of mind – what some researchers have called ‘soft fascination’ or a state of relaxed focus .
"Spending time in nature has physical health properties such as lowering blood pressure and increasing NK cells. These effects can last (although lower) as long as a month" (Williams, 2017, p. 28)
I offer individual counselling that is tailored to your specific needs in a safe relaxed and comfortable environment. The room in Barnsley is accessible and easy to get to by car or public transport. Paid parking is available and the building is disability friendly. Sessions are a therapeutic hour which is 50 minutes.
We understand that life can be busy and it's not always easy to make it to in-person therapy sessions. That's why I offer teletherapy services that allow you to connect with me from the comfort of your own home. My teletherapy sessions are secure, private, and convenient.
